The Skull Flat Fire was discovered as a lightning start on Tuesday, June 18. The Forest Service is looking at managing this ignition to help improve the Beaver City Watershed. Fire personnel will be using past fuel treatments as well as fires in previous years to contain this ignition. Fire managers conducted firing operations utilizing aerial ignitions to limit the amount of time that smoke will impact the local communities while still allowing the ignition to improve the Beaver City Municipal Watershed.
