At 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 11, Texas A&M Forest Service received a request for assistance on a fire burning southwest of Lockhart, Texas in Caldwell County. The fire is burning in grass fuels.
The fire initially prompted the evacuation of two homes. Firefighters conducted a tactical firing operation on Boggy Creek Road and successfully protected structures in the area.
Texas A&M Forest Service mobilized the following to assist with response efforts: fire managers and miscellaneous overhead, dozers, engine crews from Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) and a helicopter.
