The Wahoo Peak Fire was started by lightning on July 29, 2023 and is burning within a remote part of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness (SBW) in Idaho. As of August 10th, it is approximately 80 acres and burning around 6300 feet on a south aspect with rock outcrops upslope. Burn scars from fires in the early to mid-2000’s nearly surround the fire.
Fire behavior is minimal, due to cooler and wetter weather. This could change depending on future weather conditions.
