Incident Photo for the Crooks Fire

The Crooks Fire began on April 18, 2022 about 10 miles south of the Prescott-Bradshaw Ranger District near Mt. Union. California Interagency Incident Management Team 4 assumed command of the Crooks Fires at 6:00 pm on April 20. 
 
The fire is burning in continuous thick, dry, dead, and down fuels in very rugged terrain.  Erratic winds and fire behavior is making conditions hazardous for firefighters.  Firefighter and public safety is the number one objective.

 EVACUATIONS:  There is no change to the evacuation status.  Information about the current evacuation status can be found on the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/YavapaiCountySheriff/

minimal fire activity and interior smoldering.

24 hours: Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s. Light WSW winds are forecasted. Fire behavior will be consistent with interior smoldering. The probability of ignition will be between 95-100%, single-digit RH being the overwhelming factor.
