The fire is fully contained and the burned are is estimated at 126 acres. Gaston Rural Fire District (GRFD) will conduct daily patrols of the area to watch for any unexpected flare ups while waiting for the rains to fully extinguish the fire. There will be small amounts of smoke coming from the area within the perimeter of the fire. Scoggins Valley Park and Henry Hagg Lake will remain closed until further notice. Deputies in the area continue routine patrols.
