The Pedro Mountain fire started by a lightning strike on Saturday, August 24, 2019. The fire is located east of Pathfinder Reservoir in south-central Wyoming and approximately 40 miles northeast of Rawlins, Wyoming. Some evacuations and closures are in affect due to fire activity and firefighting apparatus.

Southwest of Alcova, Wyoming; east of Pathfinder Reservoir; 40 miles north of Rawlins

Short grass, brush, timber. Sagebrush is at critical fuel moistures.
Minimal fire behavior with smoldering in the duff and around stump holes.
Continue to monitor and mop up near containment lines and around structures to prevent unwanted fire spread. Shadow day for incoming Type 4 incident management team.
Projected Incident Activity:
Minimal fire spread outside containment lines. Isolated torching, creeping, and smoldering may occur in previously burned areas.
