The HK Complex is a combination of 14 lightning fires that were reported on Aug.5, 2019 following a lightning storm on the Forest. The fires are located near the Alder Creek Skookum Trailhead, approximately two miles east of Tupper Guard Station. The fire is burning in grass, brush and timber. Firefighters and aerial resources were promptly dispatched to the fires, however strong evening winds produced rapid fire growth, causing some of the fires to grow together and increasing the overall fire size to approximately 2,455 acres. A Type 2 Incident Management Team took command of the fire at 6 a.m. on Aug. 8, 2019.

Planned Actions:
Fire has been transitioned back to local unit at the type 4 level organization.

Most of the fire will be in patrol status with the majority of the work being done on the North end of the fire. Resources continue mop up operations and hazard tree removal to ensure public safety.

Interior pockets of fuels may continue to smolder and produce smoke until a season ending event occurs.
Projected Incident Activity:
12 hours: Minimal fire behavior interior with mostly creeping and smoldering. Unburned drainages will continue to burn out.

24 hours: Minimal fire behavior minor creeping and smoldering. Interior unburned areas will still hold heat.

48 hours: Minimal fire behavior. Interior unburned areas will continue holding heat.

72 hours: Minimal fire behavior. Interior unburned areas will continue holding heat.
Remarks:
Acreage for incident 152 and 166 combined as fires have burned together.
