Fire is burning in Ponderosa pine and Manzanita brush. Fuel loading is heavy in this area and resource benefit is expected through low intensity fire. Adjacent fuels are ponderosa pine with mixed brush throughout.
Significant Events
Fire is cleaning up unburned pockets within the interior of the incident.
Planned Actions
Resources will build control lines and identify where natural barriers can be used to manage the fire. Crews and engines will be utilized for line construction, patrol, mop up lines, holding and firing operations.
Projected Incident Activity
Chance of thunderstorms for the next several days, but coverage will be spotty. As drying conditions persist, fire behavior will gradually increase in the area. The fire behavior is not expected to get above the minimal to moderate level.
Weather Concerns
The area is moving into a drying pattern with the chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. The precipitation should be spotty for the area with a low risk of heavy rains. Fire behavior should remain low for the near future, but as the drying trend develops, the fire behavior may incrementally increase.
