Lightning caused fire 23 miles west of Monticello, Utah on the Monticello District of the Manti-La Sal National Forest. Fire is burning on a mesa top in Ponderosa Pine litter and dead and down fuels. Aspen, oak brush and grass are present.

Fire is burning on the mesa top in ponderosa stand with litter and dead and down component in the understory. Aspen stands, oak brush and grass meadows are found within the unit as well.

All fire resources will be utilized for line patrol and holding operations if necessary. If conditions allow, burn out operations will be conducted to strengthen the black in the units.
