Location: 22 miles west of Blanding, UT in Peavine Canyon in the Dark Canyon Wilderness area of the Manti-La Sal NF

Burning in subalpine fire and ponderosa with an understory of manzanita and oak brush. Occasional group and single tree torching. Creeping and smoldering in ground fuel.

Fuels Involved:
Fire is burning in mixed conifer timber, litter and understory. Understory is comprised of oak brush, manzanita and other shrub species. Adjacent fuels are Aspen stringers located in wetter side drainages and ponderosa and oak brush on the mesa tops.
Significant Events:
Minimal fire behavior with creeping and isolated torching.

Planned Actions:
Crews and engines will be utilized for line patrol and holding if necessary on all division.
Projected Incident Activity:
Dry Conditions expected to return. Chance of thunderstorms for the most of the foreseeable future. The rain will be hit or miss in the area. Outflow winds expected with all storms. Minimal fire movement expected.
