Texas A&M Forest Service received a request for assistance for a fire approximately 1/5 miles south of Encino, Texas on August 18, at 3:30 pm. The fire is actively burning and there are evacuations for residents along CR 304 (Las Cuatas Road). Multiple structure have been damaged and destroyed. Ongoing assessments will determine the number and types of structures impacted. 

Local firefighters have been joined by personnel, heavy equipment, fire engines, and aviation resources from Texas A&M Forest Service and Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System. 

The area will experience excessive heat today and low humidity will be below 30 percent through Saturday.
