Incident Photo for the Burke Fire

 On Monday, April 11th, Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to assist with a wildfire in a pine plantation located approximately three miles northwest of Crockett, TX between Highway 287 and 229. Crews arrived on scene at approximately 9:00 am and found the fire to be approximately 200 acres with low fire behavior, and not threatening any homes or structures. The fire is believed to have been burning for at least two days prior to the request call, and the cause of ignition is currently under investigation.
