The reporting party was on Elliot Highway and stated that the fire was north of Manley towards Eureka and was burning rapidly. 9VS diverted to this report and confirmed the fire to be 2 miles east of Baker Lake. 9VS reported that the fire had a 100% active perimeter that was burning in tundra and brush. J-17 deployed 8 smokejumpers to the fire. Lead plane, B-9, and FB-205 and 210 provided aerial support.
