As of September 9, the Chaparral Fire is approximately 1,427 acres and 100% contained. Crews have constructed fire line and installed hose around the entire fire. They have mopped up all instances of detectable heat. Day-shift fire patrol will continue to monitor for heat.  

No road closures, evacuation orders, or evacuation warnings are in effect. However, the Cleveland National Forest is temporarily closed as part of a larger emergency forest closure issued by USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region.

The September 1 public information map will be the last map produced for this incident.
