Shale Creek Fire is located in remote and rugged terrain east of Hams Fork River. Firefighters are making considerable progress on fully suppressing the fire. Aviation resources are necessary to support logistic and safety needs of firefighters on the line.

Wyoming Team 2, a Type 3 Incident Management Team, has been in command since the morning of Sunday, July 18.

The Kemmerer District of Bridger-Teton National Forest has issued a closure order for the Shale Creek Fire including some access trails and forest roads.
