The Elbow Creek Fire, located approximately 17 miles northwest of Wallowa, is burning on both sides of the Grande Ronde River and is on or threatening Umatilla National Forest lands, Wallowa-Whitman National Forest lands, Vale District Bureau of Land Management lands and Oregon Department of Forestry protected lands. The fire was reported on Thursday, July 15 and is burning in grass and timber.

Weather Synopsis

Weather Concerns:
Continued sunny, smokey, hot and dry conditions. Smoke should clear in afternoon on the North and West side of the fire. Afternoon winds will be out of the southwest and southeast 5-9 mph with gusts to 15 mph. The trend for hotter and drier weather will continue through the weekend.
