The Big Hollow Fire received widespread rainfall over the last several days, this has significantly reduced fire behavior across the Mount Adams Ranger District.
The Gifford Pinchot National Forest implemented closure orders for the southwestern portions of the forest to ensure public safety near the Big Hollow Fire. This closure area includes developed campgrounds, dispersed camping, day use areas, wilderness areas, and all forest roads and trails within the area. If you have plans to be in this area of the forest, please make alternate arrangements.
The cause of the fire is unknown.

24 hours: High pressure ridge will begin to build.
48 hours: clear and windier through Wednesday.
72 hours: Sunny with highs in the low 70s throughout the week.
40% of the fire is currently contained.
Rain showers has moderated fire behavior. Wet and muddy roads could create logistical and travel issues.
