The Scrabble Fire  burned in Hardscrabble Canyon near Pyramid Lake about 1 mile southwest of Sutcliffe, Nevada. It was reported at 4 pm on August 18, on public lands managed by the Carson City District BLM. Handcrews assisted by helicopters and fixed-wing retardant aircraft have fully contained the fire.
