Public and firefighter safety remain our #1 priority-Watch for Smoke across Burlando Road.

This past winter, Kern River Ranger District fire personnel fell trees throughout the Kernville Golf Course, due to drought kill.

Tuesday, May 21, 2019 crews chipped the piled slash from the felled Ash and Locust trees.

Today, May 22, crews will be burning the slash piles from the smaller limbs.

Smoke may be seen off of Burlando Road, (parallel with the burn sites), Kernville, Wofford heights and the east side of the Lake.
