Firefighters respond to early morning "Cattle Fire"
off Highway 178

UPDATE @ 7:02 p.m. - Highway 178 between Lake Isabella and Bakersfield is now OPEN - both lanes. Fire is 100% contained and in patrol/monitor status- drive safely as fire resources are still on the roadsides

KERNVILLE, Ca....Firefighters responded to a wildland fire, early this morning on Highway 178, in the Lower Kern Canyon, 1 1/2 miles east of the mouth of the canyon. The fire is 92 acres and 100 contained.
