Incident Overview

A state mobilization request was submitted with five strike teams arriving overnight to assist with firefighting efforts.

Today, aerial resources will be utilized using both retardant and water to slow the fire's spread where structures are threatened. Dozers and hand crews will continue fireline construction established yesterday. The main fuels are grasses and shrubs and fire behavior has been active through the night. Resources will continue point protection around structures.

The primary focus today is public and firefighter safety.

Northeast Washington Interagency Type 3 Incident Management Team #3 took command of the fire as of 0600 July 9, 2025.
