
Wildland Firefighters are responding to multiple wildfires on the Shasta-Trinity National Forest with a coordinated effort of ground crews and aerial resources following widespread thunderstorms and lightning on the afternoon and evening of June 30, 2025. The Shasta-Trinity National Forest saw more than 3,100 lightning strikes across the Forest, between June 30 and July 2, resulting in several wildfires.
The three largest wildfire incidents right now are the:
- Horse Fire west of Lakehead
- Green Fire east of Shasta Lake
- Helena Fire near the community of Helena.

Resources are actively engaged with these fires and several more across the Forest. Additional resources are enroute to support the wildfire response. Firefighters will continue monitoring the forest in the days ahead for holdover fires that may emerge from this week's storms.
