Updated: 4 hours ago — The Greys River Road (Forest Service Road 10138) is now open with the issuance of a new closure order on September 29, 2018 (Order No. 04-03-592, map).Stage 1 fire restrictions are in effect. Generally, campfires are allowed only in designated campgrounds. For specific information on Stage 1 restrictions, go to Teton Interagency Fire. The Marten Creek Fire is approximately 13 mile east of Afton, Wyoming. The fire is being managed by a local Type 4 organization.

Significant Events
Fire behavior is minimal, with some creeping, backing, and isolated tree torching possible. Smoke maybe visible in area.


Planned Actions
Resources will continue to monitor the fire perimeter and ensure heat sources are diminished and monitor Red Creek drainage on North side.
Projected Incident Activity
While interior islands of unburned vegetation may continue to be consumed and isolated tree torching is possible, the potential for the fire to spread is minimal.

Closure area has been rescinded. It is the Forest user's responsibility to know the hazards involved with traversing a recently burned area.
