Updated: 56 mins, 45 secs ago — The Milepost 90 Fire started on July 31st, at approximately 4:30 p.m. The origin of the fire is near milepost 90 on Washington State Route 14 (Highway 14). The fire consists of mainly grass with very little sage on private, US Forest Service, and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands.The fire’s size is 14,175 acres and is 60% contained. There are approximately 135 firefighters working the fire. There have been no injuries and no confirmed structures lost.Highway 14 is closed between Highway 197 and Highway 97. Other road closures may be in effect, check www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/trafficalerts/ for updates.Earlier today the Klickitat County Sheriff’s office lowered the evacuation levels to either a one or a two.
