Incident Overview

Updated: 4 hours, 8 mins ago — This lightning caused wildfire started on July 17, 2018 at approximately 3:00 pm. The fire is burning in heavy continuous fuels and rugged terrain that has limited firefighter access. These conditions make it very hazardous for firefighters to directly attack this fire, therefore they are looking for opportunities to use indirect control lines and burnout operations. Crews will be constructing indirect lines in part to protect the adjacent I-70 corridor and major powerline. Also, when completed, this operation will secure fireline which protects Bonneville Cutthroat Trout habitat within the Clear Creek
